Hoover Dam

Daily 9am - 5pm
Hwy. 93, Boulder City

The Basics

The dam is a popular day-trip destination from Las Vegas and transportation options range from comedy buses, Hummers, and mountain bikes. On-site, tour the power plant, learn how the dam generates and distributes electricity, and see stunning views of the surrounding riverways, canyons, and valleys. Some tours even combine a Hoover Dam visit with shooting range stops, excursions to the Grand Canyon’s West Rim, or a cruise on Lake Mead. Want a bird’s-eye view? Opt for a flightseeing helicopter tour instead.

Small Group 3 Hour Hoover Dam Mini Tour
Our Driver/Tour Guide was fabulous! He was super friendly, knowledgable and safety concious! We enjoyed every minute of our tour! We would never have known about the "painted rocks" and saw the sheep up so close if he hadn't taken us. The variety of views and history he shared about the bridge & Hoover Dam were fabulous! The one thing that bothered me was to see how few people tipped him! So awful! These people provide a service, please remember to tip them!

Grand Canyon West Rim Bus Tour & Hoover Dam Photo Stop with Optional Skywalk
We had a great time! Bus was clean and the tour guide was funny. The Grand Canyon was breath taking especially on the sky walk. Just wish we were able to stop on the Hoover Dam to actually see the dam. I'm glad the weather wasn't too hot to enjoy the views. Would do the tour again!

Hoover Dam Tour from Las Vegas
My husband and I chose the half day tour, and we're extremely pleased with our trip! It ended up being a couple hours longer than we anticipated (I believe it said 4.5 hours, and from the tike we were picked up to drop off was about 5 or 5.5 hours) but we were totally fine with it! We made several stops and had ample opportunities to take pictures and see different views. We loved hearing the history of the Hoover Dam. The bus was clean and heated/cooled. We would definitely recommend!

Comfortable and Great Tour!

Grand Canyon West Rim With Hoover Dam Photo Stop From Las Vegas
The Hoover Dam photo stop was great and perfectly timed to break up the long ride to the west rim. The bus was a large and comfortable transportation vehicle that provided AC and a bathroom. The West Rim had the skywalk which was a great experience but they do not let you take your own phones out there-must purchase pictures by one of their photographers. They do take great shots so if you want a memorabilia then that is the way to go.

Small-Group Hoover Dam VIP Tour from Las Vegas
The tour guide, Jim, was great and very knowledgeable and friendly. he put the group at ease and helped us communicate with each other. Unfortunately, the Hoover Dam was closed due to some unknown circumstances. Jim was apolegitc and as surprised as the rest of us, but he managed to make a stop at a local park where we saw a Big Horn Sheep and had a great view of Lake Mead. When i come back to vegas I plan to book another tour with them.

When to Get There

Inside Hoover Dam

A Hoover Dam tour features much more than just a 726-foot (221-meter) wall. Explore tunnels that were bored directly into the mountainside, hear the harrowing tales of workers who carved them out by hand, and tour the power plant. The Hoover Dam Visitor Center offers even more info about America’s most famous dam.
