He’s lived in Haiti in addition to Paris, has been a lawyer and an illustrator, and had so many interesting things to say about food and architecture, beyond the chocolate (which was awesome). Our 8-year-old boys said it was the best tour ever.

    I thought the tour would be more balanced between sweet and savory. The tour guide was lovely and clearly knew the area. But, none of the shops we went to seemed to be ready for us. We did a good food tour in Mexico City that was much more organized and informative. The guide had a very indirect style that took her about 15 minutes to work up to asking if we wanted to taste at every place. People on a food tour are there to taste. Again, the guide was a lovely person, I’m not sure if that is not the right tour for her to lead or if those putting the tour together are not very organized.

    We had mixed feelings about this tour. We were the only two people who were taking it on a sunny November day. The places that we visited were a mixture of boulangeries, patisseries and places that specialise in making chocolate. They were all quite nice and worth visiting and we tasted a few chocolates, macarons and pastries. However, I do not see why the cost of this tour was 120€ per person as we literally ate one macaron each, one croissant, an apple pie, bread and some small chocolate treats. I would definitely say there are better things to do in Paris for that cost.

    We had high hopes for this food tour since it is Paris and this food tour received good reviews on Viator. Having done many food tours in Barcelona, Rome, New York, SF, etc., this one was the most disappointing. We waited at our first stop, Maison Pralus, for 35-40 min. Called the company several times to find an update on the arrival of our food tour guide, and she finally came. Our family had to wait outside in the rain, and mind you, we had a 4 year old, 8 year old, and 10 year old. We finally went to a few stops, but other than Pierre Herme macarons (which everyone in Paris knows is one of the best macaron shops along with Laduree), all the other stores were just ok. For the amount of money we spent, we didn’t get our moneys worth. Quite disappointed to have booked this food tour in Paris instead of another company so we could have enjoyed a food tour experience while we were here.
