The experience included a visit to Reims , a large and impressive house and a small but engaging house. Our guide was warm , personable and tried to engage everyone. The countryside was itself was fabulous. Only down side was there were not enough seats on the bus for all the couples to sit together.
The best champagne tour!

Unforgettable tour! Meeting at the pickup point was super easy, and we got there early enough to snag a coffee and pain au chocolate before the long drive out to Reims. I highly recommend eating something before you leave, because there is not another opportunity for food until lunch. Exploring the beautiful Notre Dame de Reims was wonderful for me, since Notre Dame de Paris was still closed from the fire.
Then we drove directly to the first family owned winery, Pierre Domi, which ended up being our favorite part of the day. Stefan and JB gave a wonderful tour and explanation of the complexity of making champagne before enjoying a tasting of some of Stefan’s bottles. There was 7 of us in our group and they opened 3 bottles, so we each got 4-5 glasses at Pierre Domi. We loved it so much our group shipped ourselves 12 bottles home.
Then it was on to the Abbey to see Dom Perignons tomb with a quick stop to see beautiful views of the valley. Then we had some free time to snag lunch in Epernay before joining a larger group for our tour of Moët. We got a nice history of the family before exploring a fraction of the 26 km cellars which are FILLED with champagne bottles in the making. We did the superior tour, so we tasted two glasses of Moët in a fancy tasting room. It was far less intimate than Pierre Domi’s tour/tasting, but fun nonetheless.
Beautiful trip

I absolutely recommend this tour to anyone who loves champagne. Nisa (Neesa?) was a fantastic tour guide, who even managed to solve a problem with my new cell phone! Her interaction and translation at our first, independent vineyard was invaluable. The best part of my trip so far, and likely hard to beat.
Superb tour fo the old and new way of making champagne

What a wonderful journey to see the champagn region of France and experience a vineyard with the traditional champagn making technique at Michel Fargo followed by a modern facility of NicolasFeuillate which is a wine coop. Our tour guide was amazing and very knowledgeable. This experience will be remembered for a lifetime by my family.
Too expensive for what the day entails.

We attended two tours while in Paris. One was a walking food tour which included lots of wine and fun. The other was your Champagne tour. Although we liked our tour guide, Adrian we found the tour SO expensive for what it entailed. Two champagne stops, the first one at Fagot was good but the Moen was a huge marketing experience with 1 glass of champagne in an overly opulent “tasting room”. More small winery tours would be better and more fun. We have taken a number of wine tours in Europe and this one had you thinking that you did not get much for the expense. In Italy we did 3 stops including a lunch on top of a hill were the wine was flowing, the food delicious and this was included in the tour. On you tour we were expected to buy our own lunch which just added to the overall price.
We can’t unfortunately recommend this tour. Adrian and his protégé, Victor were a good team but the logistics of this tour would be better if revamped.
Response from Host , Apr 2022
Bonjour Maria,
In your review, you state that you liked our tour guide, Adrien, and even our guide in training, Victor, who accompanied you throughout the entire day trip to the Champagne region of France.
You mention nothing negative about their driving skills, their knowledge of the Cathedral of Reims that they took you to, their knowledge of the vineyards that they walked you through, their knowledge of the Champagne making process, the history of Dom Perignon or the visit with them to his graveside. So, I can only assume that those parts of our day trip happened exactly as they were advertised to happen and were satisfactory to you.
The tastings which were advertised: 3 different types of Champagne at a small Vineyard where you get to meet the winemaker himself and 1 Imperial Brut Champagne at the world-famous House of Moet and Chandon (not Moen as you wrote in your review) were also provided by our partners in Champagne, as promised on our website.
So it appears that absolutely everything that we advertised on our website to give and do for you on the 12 hour day trip in the Champagne region was given to you and done with or for you that day.
Yet you still think the tour should have been different or less expensive or more like a walking food tour that you did in Paris.
Comparing a 2hour walking food tour to a 12-hour small-group day trip, by van, is like comparing apples to blue cheese.
I also thought it was odd that you compared a wine tour that you did in Italy, in some unnamed wine region, to our tour in the Champagne region of France.
Italy is Italy. France is France. Champagne is not made in Italy it is made in France. The economy and cost of living in Italy are not at all the same as the economy and the cost of living in France. As such the prices between the two countries for two completely different tours should not be compared.
You are allowed to prefer the wine tour in Italy. That is totally fair. I prefer the pizza in Naples to the Zapiekanka in Warsaw. It is normal for people to have preferences and favourites.
But what I think you ought not to do is to publically complain and say that the tour which you chose to book, knowing full well what it would entail, was expensive for what it entailed.
I feel like your review is similar in nature to one that I once read about on a fancy hotel's review page. It said something like this: The 5-star hotel that I booked a room in and slept in was way too expensive for what I got out of it! Especially when I compare it to the comfy bed and great night that I had at the Motel 8 I stayed in last year in Wyoming.
In the future, I encourage you to look at what the tour advertises as giving you and then look at its price. If you want to pay the price and do the advertised tour, that is your choice. If it is out of your budget, or the tour seems expensive for what it is offering you, then don't book it.
I wish you many happy wine tours in many more countries in the future!
Best regards,
-Hava

Absolutely brilliant day! I am horrible with names and forgot our tour hosts name, but he was beyond wonderful. He also had two team members there that he was training. His knowledge was amazing and his personality just helped to make the day. The trip was quick (most of us napped) to Riems, a wonderful town. Then the Pierre Domi family champagne house - a delicious tasting! We at at Le Banque (recommended by the guide) and the lunch was delightful. We ended with the tour at Moët. All together a FANTASTIC way to spend the day and get out of the city.
Great!

Guillaume was a fantastic tour guide. Highly recommend this tour. We were very lucky to go to a family owned winery called Champagne Delaunois Chanez-it was amazing and educational. You can tell that they love and they are very passionate with what they do. The owner Eric knows his stuff. Again, highly highly recommend it.

The family winery, Pierre Domi, and the Reims Cathedral were both spectacular. The owner, Stefan, gave us an intimate tour followed by delicious champagne. Moët & Chandon was a huge let down after that experience. Our guide Nissa, was charming, informative and made our day wonderful. We highly recommend!

We had a great time. Would definitely do again. Only glitch, they need to confirm regarding the meeting place. Was told café was open 24/7, so I felt fine come in an hour early to have breakfast before the trip. However, they did not open until 8 o’clock which was after we were left and I was not comfortable standing in the dark for an hour. I understand things are different because of Covid, more the reason to confirm these things in advance

I travelled solo and the group I met on the tour was lovely! Our guide Nissa was amazing, she was personable, engaging and clearly knew a lot about the subject. My favourite part of the tour was tasting fresh grape juice from the harvested and pressed grapes when visiting a small producer, which only happens a few times a year!
